Firm Advises on Major Public-Private Partnership for Urban Housing Project

Sebugwawo & Co. Advocates has played a pivotal legal advisory role in a landmark public-private partnership aimed at addressing Uganda’s urban housing shortage. The firm represented a private consortium in the drafting, negotiation, and signing of a PPP agreement with a government housing agency.

The project, valued at over UGX 120 billion, is expected to deliver over 2,000 affordable housing units in Kampala over the next three years. Legal work included land due diligence, project structuring, tax planning, and regulatory clearances.

The firm’s involvement reflects its capacity to support complex infrastructure and real estate transactions. “This partnership shows what’s possible when the public and private sectors collaborate effectively under sound legal frameworks,” noted Senior Partner Advocate Lydia Nansubuga.
